This photo looks like it could have been taken in Western NY!
That was made at Anza Narrows (a park where the Santa Ana River narrows somewhat). The mountain in the middle distance is Mount Rubidoux. The background ridges are of the Angeles Mountains on the left and the San Bernardino Mountains on the right. The Cajon Pass, which divides the two mountain ranges is behind Mt. Rubidoux.
