An Unknown Automobile
While Lisa and I were in Santa Cruz, California on Sunday, February 13, visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and new granddaughter, we all took a walk down to the beach, a half-block away. On the way to the beach this roadster was parked outside of one of the houses on the street. I thought it was an extremely good-looking example of an early auto and took the first photograph. I didn’t walk over close enough to read the hood emblem to see what the make was (damnit!).
A few minutes later as we returned from our short stroll along the beach, the car’s owner was driving it to the intersection of the street that parallels the ocean. I quickly focused the manual 28mm lens mounted on my Nikon N90s, then made the photo below as the roadster turned the corner. The long shadows thrown across the street and onto the roadster are from our family group and other pedestrians on the sidewalk to the right.
