This one was somewhat random. While cleaning out the garage, we were looking at a kaleidoscope I bought Lisa about three decades ago.

Looking at the small round viewing hole, I wondered what lens would be physically small enough to shoot through it.

A camera phone might have been the right tool, but I don’t have a camera phone. My mobile phone makes and receives phone calls (it also receives and sends text messages, but I don’t text). Lisa has a camera in her mobile phone, but I don’t use her phone, and as if it didn’t exist, I didn’t consider it.

I used an old Canon Powershot A400, a 3.2 Megapixel digital point and shoot camera released to the public in 2004.
