This one was captured on December 11, 2011. When I’m not out walking somewhere in the early morning I like to study the way the early sun lights up the local flora.

I liked the way the leaves of this tree across the street from my house were backlit. Most of the annual trees in the neighborhood were stripped of their leaves during multi-day wind storms a week ago, but this tree retained a few more than the taller trees because it was so close to the ground.

This frame was made with the Lumix G1 and 14-45mm kit lens. Metadata: f/5.6, ISO 500, 45mm (90mm equivalent).
