Sometimes You Get….Nothing
When I woke at 4:00 am there was a dead clear view of the thumbnail moon above the city from my patio.
Wheeling the bike out of the garage at 5:20, I surveyed the thin mist that had settled over the trees and houses on the street. Maybe it’ll lift before sunrise, I thought.
I’m an optimist in the morning.
The cloud thickened as I rode the 8 mile stretch of asphalt to the hills between Riverside and Norco. It was increasingly unlikely that there would be anything worthy of taking the lens cap off for. But it didn’t matter.
Sometimes all I need is to cruise slowly through the waking city, listening to the familiar chugging of the V-Twin as it happily breathes in the moist morning air.
